Welcome, Students! The fifth and sixth grades are now our Upper School, and you are all the leaders of our School. We got organized our first week, enjoyed the School Picnic, and now we're down to business! We will study grammar, spelling, vocabulary, writing, and reading. We've shared about our summer books, and now we are analyzing fables, myths, and short stories. The students received copies of the Class Policies, Classroom Conduct Rules, and Writing Standards. We will have vocabulary (Wordly Wise) tests on Monday and spelling tests on Friday. Each day the students should copy the homework assignments in their planners exactly as they are written on the board. We will have homework each day except Wednesday. Proofread your homework and turn it in by the deadline. We'll have lots of fun as we read great stories, novels, poetry, plays, and nonfiction this year!
