Miss Slappey - Kindergarten

Our Wood and Paper investigations are challenging our thinking in kindergarten. Who would have thought that sawdust and wood shavings could be so interesting! These discoveries through our Foss Science Kit will continue in November. A big thanks to the Parents’ Association for their generous support of our exciting new science curriculum. The kindergartners will also be discovering the way Native Americans used their environments to provide food, shelter, and clothing. Tepees, wigwams, and igloos will fill our classrooms as students select special projects to explore such as making bead necklaces, creating chants and songs, writing stories using pictographs, or building an igloo out of sugar cubes. Ellen Gilbert from the Global Education Center will bring a wonderful hands-on program about Native Americans to TCS for the kindergarten on November 5th. We look forward to performing for you in our Thanksgiving Program on November 25th and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
